Scrub-a-dub.

They are here! My beautiful soaps from the equally beautiful Deshawn Marie! Six amazing soaps in six amazing little gold boxes! A most beautiful sight if I do say so myself.

There is nothing more satisfying than a nice, long bath at the end of a long drive home. So, upon walking through the door of my bedroom, I was greeted with the intensely awesome scent of a Deshawn Marie package. That’s right – the smells are so strong, they fill the room.

Now, I never take a full bar into the shower with me. I will cut these huge bars of soap down into single use slabs. Makes for a more economical bath. Plus, it makes the soap last just that little bit longer, which is always a plus.

I ordered six soaps.
1. Perfect rose
2. Sea salt and kelp
3. Citronella and cedar
4. Orange and Anise
5. Fir needle
6. Bergamot and basil

I made everyone sniff each soap, and tell me their favorites. Everyone loves the rose soap and the sea salt and kelp soap the most. The other scents are very much outdoorsy scents, and take a little getting used to. While my all time favorite soap from Deshawn is her sea salt and kelp soap, I think I am falling in love with the bergamot and basil soap. It reminds me of my grandmothers house when she is using fresh herbs in her ravioli. Don’t worry, the soap does not smell like ravioli. Just basil. And bergamot.

So far, I have only used the citronella and cedar soap. It is a new soap in the shop, and I truly hope it stays. I love the exfoliation that this little bar of goodness has to offer. I literally scrubbed myself raw in the hottest bath I could bear. I feel so clean and lovely.

Hands down, Deshawn is a soap maker to be reckoned with. The best artisan soap crafter I have come across yet.
